Winter is beautiful in South Haven

Take a well deserved break after the hectic holidays and discover the "Quiet Season" of South Haven. January is a great month to start the New Year off right with a visit to Martha's Vineyard Bed & Breakfast. Enjoy the fireplace in each room, many with whirlpool tubs where you can soak until your toes wrinkle. Enjoy meeting new friends while being served your four-course breakfast in the main house dining room, or enjoy breakfast in bed in any of our guest house rooms. Venture out to downtown South Haven to enjoy discounted shopping in the local merchants, or enjoy a romantic skate on our outdoor skating rink. Take advantage of NO HOUR LONG waiting lines to get in to your favorite restaurant. Grab a movie from our library and a bag of popcorn and enjoy a quiet "date night" in your room, or visit the Michigan Theater and enjoy a just released movie, tickets/popcorn/and a drink for less than you would pay for one admission in other theaters. Visit one of the many wineries who are releasing new wines for the season, or visit a local artist gallery and see their new work of the season. No matter what you decide to spend your time doing, January is a great time to DO IT! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Veteran's Day 2010

What an honor to host some of our countries finest veterans for an evening at Martha's Vineyard B&B. We had the Army, Navy and Airforce respresented with men and women who had served in WWII, Korea, VietNam, Desert Storm, and Iraq, along with many other locations, serving to keep our country safe. One of our guests had received the prestigious Medal of Honor, another young lady has served for 27 years and still acts as a reservist, another wife was preparing to leave for her basic training as she joined the army, her husband had already served 20 years in the Navy.
What an honor it was to offer them our inn as a gathering place to spend a relaxing evening. Several of our local merchants and friends provided special amenities to add to their stay and make their visit to South Haven memorable.

Many wrote of their appreciation in our guest journals and we received this email the following day:
Ginger/Lou,

Thank you so very much for hosting us on Veteran's Day. The accommodations were outstanding, the food was exceptional, South Haven was beautiful and we had an wonderful time. You are very generous to extend this offer to veterans.
Have a GREAT NAVY Day!
Mack & Marsha

THANK YOU past, present and future veterans... God Bless the USA!

I have admired artist, Alec Greaves work for several years now and was fortunate enough to make my first purchase this year of two of his wonderful creations. This fall Alec will be displaying several more of his sculputers on the grounds of Martha's Vineyard which may include a string quartet, to serenade our wedding guests, or a bird watcher to ... See Morekeep track of our many fine feathered friends, his creations are delightful and we are very pleased to have partnered with him to bring his work and share with our guests!

Meet our social committee! Niko, Shelley, and Funny Feet. These three friends are Indian Runners whom we adopted and raised from 2 days old. Guests enjoy watching them parade by at breakfast and back in the evening to their "Duck Inn." They graze the yard and float the pond throughout the day, and greet guests as they arrive in the afternoon. These three are the most photographed features of Martha's Vineyard and are always accomodating to stop and pose for the camera, it is difficult to tell if you've captured the perfect smile or not though!
